Hello, my friend has a problem and because he is not much into computers he asked for my help. (Not that I am an expert though). He is a gamer and he is telling me he encounters low FPS in games like World of Warcraft and League of Legends. As far as I know these games are not "hungry" at all. He has a laptop and I know laptops are kinda bad for gaming(most of them) but he has one that im pretty sure can run these games smoothly (acer aspire 8930g). He told me that he didnt have problems in the past with any game so I told him to do 2 things. Format his hard drive and clean his hardware from dust which he did. I checked his temperatures and are pretty fine (~50C while running a game). At the task manager the cpu doesnt go 100% and he has some MBs available memory when running applications and I think thats ok. There are 2 things that crossed my mind that might causes the low FPS, too many services running(acer has a lot of services and apps which installs even after format) and sound (he says that if he disables sound the FPS go higher almost every time). Im not sure what to do with the services or the sound though. Finally he told me something that his cpu fan doesnt run at full speed (no idea why and how to fix). Speccy shows 12C temp at cpu which is probably bugged, but motherboard is at 50C. He says laptop is not too hot though. Any ideas as what might cause the low FPS? Btw I attach a hijackthis log.

Hijack this logs you would need to follow the whole malware procedure and post in that section of the forum. Personaly i think he needs to make sure he has the correct video drivers installed, as you had him format and reinstall windows. And or any other drivers, but i would start with video as if he is using the windows default ones, an updated driver may make a world of difference.

He doesn't have a problem with latency but with frames per second.

I think he updated his drivers, but even if he didn't, the FPS problem was even before format where he probably had the latest ones. I will check for sure that he is up to date.

    Any other ideas?
