I just bought a Used Notebook, and it is in fairly new condition, I think its only a year old or so, this is my first Notebook, and I noticed, when I look into my system, it says 0.99GB of RAM, does that mean the memory stick has been removed? I know on my desktop computer it tells me how much memory I have there, That just doesnt seem like much, am I right? Thanks for your time~

.99gig of ram is the same as 990mb ram. sounds like the laptop has a gig of ram and some is being shared with the video card.

Thanks for your help, but is that good or bad? and what can I do to get more space? Because I tried to Install AOL software to get online with it and AOL said I didnt have enought space. I have even totally wiped out the old windows and re-installed it, and nothing that I can tell is left on the Laptop. any suggestions? Thanks

splitt3r You are now the victim of a drive by title change

1gb of RAM is plenty, the problem is your hardrive, maybe you could upgrade toa 20 or 40gb.and AOL sucks, try earthlink if you are on dial up;)

if you cant upgrade right now, run the disk cleanup in the c: drive properties, maybe compress your files as well

As he has posted, he reinstalled the OS, so it will be clean.
He only has a 2gb drive (odd for about 1 yr old) and the OS is using 99% of it.
All he can do, as indicated, is replace the HD with a bigger 1.
I assume he is running XP. Going back (yech) to 98 will give him more room.
