I play a site for games constantly. Theres one game specially that I get either disconnected from there server/site. Or I am playing and my main window goes white then my game window (where iam playing) will just close with in few seconds. And Also it freezes during games sometimes.. then when it unfreezes sometimes it like it catches up on the few games that (would've been played) I emailed them back n forth many times. Everything is right and up to date, I am using firefox.. And I got faster internet. But I got low RAM Can This cause my issue? I just think its weird that its only causing this on this one game out of hundreds of games I can play there. Also I play games just like it but different.. SO I would think if that is to much on the RAM the other should to.. but nothing happens only this 1 room.

Depends on how much more graphic intense this program is to the other ones you play. My thinking is RAM yeah. How much RAM do you have now?

256 MB I believe. But the thing is.. Its 1 game on the whole site. Theres many games just like it.. And the same "intense" but its just this one. I played tons of times.. And never had issue with any other game on the site (even the games that is the same thing but different part of site). Some things they had me tried but I already did was.. Make sure everything virus/firewalls was disable or not running. Clear history/cookies anything like that. Update the java (which I already had done), and they told me to go to the Start - control panel - double click java icon - go to advance - And I unmarked something in there called I think..Java plug in and UNMARKED it. But nothing.. They also telling me maybe try IE old version.. But its not that I had problems with the site before. I join the site yr ago. Perfect everything. No issues.. they update each month on something on the site/games. Anyways they updated to that last new java and sense then its been this way.. I got new java with it. I uninstalled and re installed many times. Also people on that same game have same issues... But it gets very annoying for freeze screen for 10 minutes min. and if I do unfreeze it did all my games in the mean time and declare other person winner!

    That was critical to know.

If other people are complaining, then it's safe to assume that the issue is likely on their end. Could be a hosting problem, program might be corrupt on their end, etc.

I would simply contact the site and report it, but other than that, sounds like it's not your computer. However, at your first chance, please upgrade to at least 1 GB of RAM. :major

I don't want to give the site name.. And maybe some play it here.. Its well known site.. But anyways... I emailed them over 50 times over this problem itself.. And I check each day for there reply to me. I told them that people say they have issues before.. but they still say they dont.. I said I know you guys have many people visit and play and have to have a good place to host and keep it up.. But they never answer rather or not people complain too.. But I have told them and showed screen shots.. Only thing they say its Add more RAM. But RAM is low.. But only this game issues? Just weird and very annoying.

You are dealing with a corporation that either doesn't care what you say, or doesn't care what you say. :p

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. RAM is cheap these days for desktops, so why not get some, and if the problem persists, you have some more ammo to go at them with. Even if they do nothing, the new RAM will improve your overall computing experience by the boost in speed.

Will have to agree with motc7 on this call.
More RAM would make a definate improvement in all uses of your machine.
Would try to go for 1GB, but if not, at least get to 512MB. Just doubling your existing amount would be a big boost in performance.

Thank You Ill take it all in consideration with RAM.

Your machine would love you for it.

Actually, I would disagree and say that 512MB is your absolute minimum if all you ever want to run is a stripped down bare version of XP with no applications installed at all.

    Silas:
In the thread from two weeks ago that DomLuc linked to, you said you looked at Crucial for memory. Get this one from them. All the Dimension 4700 versions take the same kinds of memory, so it will work in either one of them.

There is no excuse for not upgrading the RAM in a computer like yours. Seriously. If you are running WinXP on 256MB RAM I'll bet you my next paycheck that 90% of all your computer frustration will go away if you spend the cash necessary to upgrade the memory. Go place that order, and get back to us after the upgrade if you have more questions. :)

    Very good price on 2GB.

I didn't say it wouldn't run, I should probably have clarified that. I'm sure they do. I'm also fairly sure that if you were to stick 2GB in either of those machines, let them use them for a week, and then take them back down to 512MB they will wonder how they ever thought that was enough. ;)

This is one of those subjective areas where personal preference is as important as hardware specifications. I think that tabbing between one of the six applications I have open should be instant. Others might disagree and be happy as long as the wait isn't more than a few moments.

Well, yeah... but if you don't have the ability to save up $34 then you have bigger problems than a slow computer. Given enough time and advance notice anyone should be good enough to manage their money that they can get that stashed away... and if not, they have other and bigger problems.
