I am trying to install Windows 7 on my test machine. However, I can't get it to detect any drives - three are 3 disks in the system - it is an IDE disk. When I try and install, it can't detect any disks, but when I try and install through Windows Vista, it detects them. However, then it says it needs the driver for the LSI Logic 22910, 21002 PCI SCSI adapter; 53C896 Device. Is there still a version of this, and if so, where can I get it? I have tried everywhere I can think of, including the LSI website!

 

Wouldnt have a clue on this one exactly I do recall XP having an option to load scsi drivers at start up is the driver on the XP Disc ...dont know..Could try my favourite Drivers guide or the other guys here maybe a bit more helpful. Gluck:wave

 

Driver should be installed on the Vista OS, in the Windows folder,
doesn't mean it will function properly though. Only problem I had with Win7 install was for a graphics card that had a Vista driver that wouldn't function on Win7, while a wireless USB adapter works fine with an XP driver. The attached zip file is from the Win7 DriverStore containing the .inf .PNF and .sys files. I have no idea if it will help or not, copied and uploaded using PCLinuxOS 2009.
Funny you would want to install a Windows Release Candidate on your Vista OS, I dual boot Win7 with a Linux OS. Hope I didn't step on any toes here...:confused
