Have an iMac with Parallels installed. Windows XP is installed so that I can run my embroidery software on the Mac. I opened the Windows a couple of weeks ago and I tried to get some updates. I got a malware error message. Then I opened Windows the other day and it said that Avast needed updated. I did so. Then it said that the computer needed to be restarted, so I clicked restart (this only restarts the Windows side of the computer). The Windows looks like it tries to start, but then I get the "blue screen of death" (at least that's what I've been told). I tried opening the Windows today and all I get is a blue window with Windows XP-Parallels Desktop as the window title. Is there a way to fix the Windows or will I have to uninstall the Windows and reinstall?

i would try rebooting your whole mac, and then seeing as you pay for Parallels see if they can make any suggestions or have any updates to fix that with avast. Other then that yes, probably a reinstall will happen.

I have already restarted the Mac. I am on Parallels site to see if they have a solution to the BSOD.
