Mac OS X and WinXP

I was wondering I want to try the Apples OS X operating system is it possible to install this on a seperate pratition of a system which is running WinXP.

 

MacOS does not run on x86 (Intel, AMD) so no, sorry, you can't. It runs on a completely different CPU architecture.

 

kodo is right, OS X runs on a risc CPU and ISA, Win XP runs on a CISC CPU and x86 ISA, if you want OS X you gotta get a mac, and that sucks, because I would love to run OS X on some fast PC hardware.

 

But!

You can run Darwin, which is what the core of OSX is

Just wondering... Is Darwin a relatively stable or functional OS? or would it basically be only for kicks?

 

Well, its Unix so, for most home users, it would basically be for kicks

So far as I know its a full fledged OS, although missing all the glitz Apple puts into it.

Actually Darwin itself is based off of FreeBSD. Hmm, 'borrowing' technology from others....sound familiar?
