   ...even for resident programs not using the browser.
   
   My wife's 2013 - 13 inch Macbook Air with Intel i5 and 4 Gb memory running MacOS10.13.6 is much too slow. 25 Gb is still available in 121 Gb of flash memory.
   
   I cleared all the cookies of FF and Chrome. Safari had been uninstalled.
   
   Please advise the best ways to speed up this computer. We searched your forums first but could not key in on this particular problem.

   Have you considered adding more memory? That is the first suggestion.
   
   Note: I don't own Apple products so the best I can do is point you to possibly helful sites.
