I have recently been getting a "Machine Debug Manager" panel when I boot up. It only occurs about 25% of the time (wild estimate) and nothing seems be wrong. I click 'OK' and everything runs just fine.

I checked the admin tools/event viewer and see that it has been logged as ID 7034, Source: Service Control Manager, Symbolic Name: EVENT_SERVICE_CRASH_NO_ACTION.

At Microsoft there are no Knowledge Base articles available for this specific error or event message.

Anyone of you guys know what might be going on and if I need to worry about anything?

    Thanks for any feedback.

The Machine Debug Manager, Mdm.exe, is a program that is installed with the Microsoft Script Editor to provide support for program debugging. The Microsoft Script Editor is included with Microsoft Office 2000 and later, and also can be obtained from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site.

    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Advanced tab.
    4. Click to select the Disable script debugging check box, and then click OK.
    5. Close Internet Explorer.

    should get rid of it

Thanks for the reply. There are two 'Disable Script Debugging' boxes. The first one for Internet Explorer the second one for Other -- both currently have a check in them. Are you saying I should UNcheck one or both of them?

And if I do this it will cause no harm?

    Again thanks for the input.

there should be 2 boxes for disabling one for "Explorer" the second "Other", make sure both have check mark in them and the third "Display a notification about every script error" should be unchecked

Thanks again for the reply. I am setup exactly as you suggest. I have not got the message since before I started this post, so, it doesn't occur much. But if it does is there something else I can do?

There is another way which requires a registry change, but if you are not comfortable doing registry changes I would advise not doing it.

    a. Click Start, and then click Run.

    b. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.

    c. In the Registry Editor, locate the following subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

    d. In the right pane, right-click MDM7, click Delete, and then click OK to confirm the deletion.

NOTE: The value for your version of the Machine Debug Manager may be different from MDM7.

    e. Close the Registry Editor and reboot
