Machine_Check_Exception? Whats this

I am trying to get my poor alien up nd running. I have a new video and sound card and I a having a terible time loading everything because after a minute or so this blue screen pops up and then this message and then I have to reset. What the heck. And for those who respond talk to me as you would to a person who knows very little about computers.

 

We need the exact information that is on this blue screen. Usually the errors look something like this:
STOP: 0x0000007F KERNEL_IN_PAGE_FAULT in win32k.sys
I made up the error number and the file name, but it gives you an idea of what we need. The message and the file name don't always appear with these errors, but if the info is there, please post it with the error number.
