I want to do a clone backup of my laptop that has an SSD for the OS and program files and an HDD for the data files

I am unsure of how to do a clone backup involving the two drive configuration

As seen in the capture below do I clone the two drives separately to their respective F & G destination drives?

If so wouldn’t the first cloned image (disk 1) to the external backup drive be wiped when the second cloned image is created?
    Thanks for your help

    Clone the discs separately.
Most people tend to 'image discs' and not actually 'clone'.
No doubt a more expert person will add any technical bits to my comments:)

PS. I do 'image' my two drives on to one external hard drive.....on restore one or other of the folders is selected.

You should clone only when upgrading a hard drive, or copying a failing drive to a new one!
As stated, you would then clone each hdd seperately to a third party storage unit (external drive) which would hold the data of both cloned drives and named accordingly so as to not repeat a directory (folder) on that storage drive.

If you simply want to backup your whole system, just use an image backup of both drives which is restorable :)

I clone regularly.Personally, if I did a clone of that system, I would clone on different drives, but system images could be done as Replicator says on a large enough hard drive, for recovery purposes, and can be updated regularly-so..............

Last time a checked, cloning two disks at once is a neat trick...

Backup each drive to a separate volume. Use a clone of your C: drive, and roll your data drive to a backup. Migration software may even be of use to reinstall your apps if you prefer a clean install.

Sometimes real restoration requires more than one step.
