As for the downloading spyware/adware at download.com:
I think that download.com handles it well, they put a blue box on the download page that says the download comes with spyware/adware and that it may track your internet usage blah blah blah.
Only thing it's missing is a big skull and crossbones and a warning that says "CoolWebSearch will destroy your internet connection"

 

Way to go guys. You can't buy advertising like that.

Congrats. Frankly, I trust MG's estimation of PCToday more than PCToday's estimation of MG. So who's the authority in this whole matter?
Re the admin. - I don't mind a 'benevolent dictator'. A civil and well-run site has plenty of appeal. Everyone's seen their share of punks, jackasses and flamers around the 'net but those types are notoriously absent from MG.
This site deserves it's success. Keep up the great work.

NOTHING beats a FREE "write-up" and a "recommendation". Yee-hah, I hope you reap the benefits.

 

No doubt about it.

I would trust this site's advice more than I would ANY other resource, on the web or off of it. For me, the advice in the tech forums here is like gospel.

MG featured in two popular PC magazines, etc....

Just my opinion (maybe I missed it posted elsewhere) but I never looked "down here" when I first came for help up in the software section.
