i have a magnavox lcd screen that has a built indvd player that doesn't work but thats not the point of this post. i've had it for almost a year already and i am using it as a monitor. after a while it has performed alive and well but all of a sudden it started changing inputs to tv instead of vga i haven't gottenit to stop and i don't know what's going on here. i know it's not the remote since i took the batteries out and let the tv run and it started changing inputs again. i also checked the back yard for a suspicious kid using a universal remote :-D

how do i get it to stop it keeps changing from vga output to channel 3, it's also turning off on it's own too. i need some help here this is very annoying and inconvenient and it's really serious since i am in college and i need it to work so i don't have to use the computers on campus and nobody thinks i should have a laptop nor does anyone plan on getting me a new monitor.

    thanks for the help everyone

To rule out interference from another remote (in another dorm room), take a piece of aluminum foil & tape it in front of the 'eye' (where you would point the remote).

If this still happens, there is a display problem. Check online for the magnavox site for similar problems.

If it don't happen, someone else is playing games, or unknowingly controlling your display when changing their unit.

You can also unplug the unit for 5 full minutes. Then plug it in & see if that helps?

    Hope this helps

well to start things off i don't live in a dorm. second i have been trying the magnavox site and they are of no help. they just keep stalling me and i wasn't going anywhere with it. and i also doubt that there is someone lurking outside the window playing tricks on me even though i live near a middle school where the kids are known to be very unruly. and i have also unplugged it before but for more than 48 hours (i was off doing something) and i came back to plug it in and still nothing it just kept acting up. i'm getting ready to throw this thing out the window and have to fend without a monitor until i can get another one and we don't have that kind of money. i atleast want the tv function to be turned off. and i don't think it's a display issue it just keeps entering the number 3 and i have pressed the number 3 when it was in vga mode and it did just what i expected it to do, it switched into tv mode, it also keeps entering number 0.

could it be possible that one of the mother board inside of it is bad and i need to get a replacement or is there something burning out something in there
