    How's it going Geeks! :)

So, I'm in the process of moving now. And I was repacking my computer. I have a switching hub that I was going to put into the computer box to save space. As I set it down on the case, it attached...I quickly lifted it off the case and, to my surprise, noticed that there are magnets on the bottom of the hub.

My question is this...am I hosed? The side of the case that I set the hub on was the motherboard side. The hub didn't stay in contact with the case for more than a fraction of a second. I hope I'm not hosed...and as it is, I don't have time to unpack the computer and everything and start it up to see. It's going to be about a month+ before I'll know, cause I'm returning home to the States, but sending my computer to my new place of residence in Japan.

    What do you guys think?

magnets wouldn't affect the mainboard anyhow, it's a solid state device. The only thing that you would have to worry about is the HDD, and I'm certain that it was shielded well enough

The only time you might have problem is if you take very powerful magnets and move them around so that their EM field induces an electrical charge in the PCB circuitry and overloads it. I suppose it's possible to damage FlashROM or CMOS memory, but not through the case. Probably not with those strength magnets either.

    Thanks guys!

You've given me much relief! :D

Boy, I'm gonna miss my computer while I'm away. Now I'm using my ancient laptop...it just ain't the same.

    Thanks again.
