maintain MSIE8

    How do I maintain explorer 8 besides checking the box 'delete browsing history' then clicking delete all? Do I have to click on view and remove all cookies from the temporary internet files also?

    Hi Peter

    In Maintaining IE8, all I would do is to keep it upto date with any updates from Windows Update and then use CCleaner to delete all the necassary areas of the browser like Cookies, Temp Internet folder and History for you.

    But yes you can when you click Delete and the next box pops up you can tick the items you want to delete and then click Delete again as in the below list,

    But I tend to use CCleaner as its easy and helps delete alot more of the temp files and not just form IE, but from Windows and Firefox etc

    Hello
    What I am referring to goes a bit further. There is a box next to delete just to the right of clear historyetc. Once I click delete and click delete on the page that appears I go to "view files" and a lot of cookies still remain. This is the case on both computers so it isn't a fluke. I then remove all these cookies. So, the question is, why click delete if it in fact does not clear cookies?

    Hi

    What Windows version?

    Try CCleaner with IE8 closed and then reopen IE and check View Files, maybe one or two left depending on what you have set as Homepages.

    Do you have the "Preserve Favorites Website Data" ticked?

    "Preserve Favorites Website Data" ticked."
