    Dear Major Attitude
I have been a member of Major Geeks for years and have always been very polite and respectful.
As you know, inflection, and misunderstandings are very prevalent among emails more so than verbal communication.
I am making a public apology to you in front of millions of readers.
I meant no disrespect in my discussion about Try and Decide.
If you were speaking with me you would have known I meant no disrespect or anything at all negative.
I come here because I am a low level person and need help and have made some very good friends.
I do not condsider myself smart, and anything you may have picked up in our conversation that upset you was not in the slightest meant to be that way. I was trying to ask you something I did not understand, and no more.
Please accept my explanation and apology.
We walk this life together for a brief time so it is important that we do so kindly and with compassion for our fellow person.
I truly believe that and ask that we overlook any miscommunication in thought or word that occured.

Picking up on your question about Try & Decide in the previous thread, I would not recommend this to non-experts. Some software installs require a reboot on completion at which point T&D can throw a wobbly and cause considerable confusion, especially if the system won't boot at all, which can happen.

If you want to be able to try things out and be certain that everything will be OK when you restart then I would recommend Rollback RX, not free unfortunately but pretty bombproof. There are others too but none I would recommend. But all of these 'timeshift' programs impose a number of restrictions on what you can and can't do while using them, including not using a boot disk at any time and not restoring a previous disk image.

The safest course for you peter imo would be to keep your Acronis images reasonably up-to-date so that if something you try out causes issues you can fairly quickly back out of the situation.

    Hi B
Your explantion was very to the point and I better understand what to do. There were some folders left behind by Ubuntu and Oracle's VM along with Roxio etc. I guess they are doing no harm, and as you pointed out, at my level, updated Acronis images would allow me to back out of trouble if something did not work out. I had in mind, isolating the os, running Ccleaner, and removing some of the folders I metioned then seeing if all ran well. If so I would keep it as is but if not I would have discarded the isolated os.
I see the folly of my ways especially given my lack of abilities and thank you for your clear courteous response.
An email from a friend precipitated this regreatable thread as he had great luck with his Try and decide. I became enthusiastic and in haste presented myself incorrectly.
    It ain't really broke.:wave

    >>B.-I have had time to think and your advice is sound. Thank goodness for Acronis as it has not failed me yet.
