Major Browser Trouble!

My browsers are constantly crashing on me. I am an XP user. Whether I'm using Firefox, IE, or Chrome, I can hardly browse the web before the browser seizes up. For some reason it is more prone to this on sites like Facebook, Youtube, or Hulu, but sometimes it just crashes right off the bat.

I am not as computer savvy as you all (go easy with me on the terms) and am at a loss on how to fix it. I have done all the steps in the Malware Removal Guide and the computer routine cleaning. After I did all of it, the problem seemed to go away for a while (though not completely), and now it is back full force.

I don't know if this is related or not, but my computer is also having trouble recognizing when things like cameras or printers are hooked up. I have tried updating the drivers but that didn't help.

Thank you for ANY advice!! I appreciate it so much. So glad there's people out there who'll take the time to help incompetents like me. !! :confused

    Hi and welcome.

While malware may not be the cause of all your problems, your statement above sets off alarms. Since you saw improvement and your problems seemed to have gone, I am going to suggest before you get any help here in software, that you perform the steps again and start a thread in Malware with all your logs attached. I think what you are seeing is your infection not being completely cleaned out and just coming right back again after a bit. In order to completely wipe it out, and make sure all files are clean, do follow up with, as I said, attaching your logs and letting the Malware experts take a look.

Thank you, Laura. I will try that. I'm not sure what you mean by attaching my logs, though. Logs? How do I do that?

:) No problem. I think after you get your computer completely malware free, you will find that a bunch of your problems will go away.

You do need to make sure you follow ALL steps in the READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide. At the end, it will tell you all the logs that you are to post in a new thread in the Malware Forum. After you have done so, you may have to wait for a few days. They have been extremely busy in there and take the oldest threads first. So while it may look like your thread is being ignored, it isn't. Be sure to not post in it again after all your logs are posted as this will knock you to the back of the line again.

Here is a guide for How to Attach your Logs:
