Major Geeks Software Updater

Hello,

I very much appreciate that you have an updater for software to check for updates on people's systems.
However, It still has bugs with some software and reports they need updating when they are already updated.
Examples:
Acronis True Image 2017 20.0 Build 5554 - I already have this installed, but it reports that it needs updating. It doesn't.

System Explorer - It reports I have 7.0.0 installed and to update to 7.1.0. I have installed v7.1.0.5359 already.

The Dude - It reports that 6.37.1 is latest and needs to be updated, I have it already installed.

Kodi - It reports that 16.1 is the latest version and needs to update, but again I have Kodi 16.1 installed already.

I notice it hasn't been updated since May 1, 2014. Are you still working on this as a viable system updater or is it not being worked on anymore as far as bugs like these where it gets the installed versions wrong, etc. I really like this program and hope it keeps getting worked on and bugs attacked. Please let me know the status if it's no longer having bugfixes looked into or the project has become defunct.

Thx element7 for bringing this up. You reminded me to do something, I keep forgetting, which is to check it out. I will do this tonight and see if I can come up with something for you. I haven't use it before, but will, now.

On behalf of Major Geeks and Kyle_ Katarn, let me say they do their best to give you the best information. However, the sources don't always have their total act together.Thus, inaccurate information gets passed on. The specific programs, you listed, will help me investigating the issue.

 

Element7, sorry I haven't got back to before now. Things weren't working for a couple of weeks, for sure.This past week, I've been checking daily and the program seems to be running good, now.Check it out.

 

I use SUMo about once a month but before doing so I run Ninite. That will update many of my programs automatically and safely, leaving less for SUMo to deal with.
