major printer problem please help

i bought a hp photosmart pro b8350...
the problem i am having is i did a fresh install of windows xp pro
i installed the printer and software for editing...
the printer printed everything just fine and i mean FINE!
well after doing xp updates and so forth the printer will only print documents
will not print photo's when i try to print a picture it shows the document in the print spooler then all of a sudden it shows it being deleted and it gets deleted.....
i have several times reinstalled windows removed updates and so forth but it seems to do the same thing over and over again....

Having looked on HP support website, I found nothing in faq,s, except a similar problem with a MAC , which obviously will not apply to yours.
However, sometimes an acrobat reader, or other plugin can cause these queer happenings.
I would suggest disabling all the explorer add-ins, temporarily to see if the problem clears,- if not, I would go to hp support

and choose e-mail support, on that page, to get a HP technition to look into it.

 

I've been having the exact same problem since February and have been back and forth with HP ever since it started.
I'm somewhat glad to know that I'm not the only one with this issue.
I actually just reformatted a couple of days ago and it was working perfectly before I finished installing all of the Windows Updates and my usual apps (Adobe CS3, K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, Foobar2000, and Clean Access Agent, which my school requires).
I was still successfully printing borderless 11 x 17 pages up until some point after installing updates 929969 and 933566. I know that this was when I finally installed the driver for my video card (Forceware 163 beta), CS3, the driver for my Wacom tablet, and K-Lite. I'm pretty sure that some automatic updates slipped though as well, but I don't know which ones.

I plan on reformatting again tomorrow night and cataloging every step I take along the way to try and pinpoint the moment that it breaks. If you want, I'll post a follow up to this post.

 

I do remember having problems, myself with a HP all in officejet, and I plumb forgot, as I don't have it, now.
The automatic download updater for HP caused it. I decided to disable automatic HP check for updates, and kept the old drivers, and I had no more problems -
Try disabling HP automatically checking, and updating, within the programs - I had no further problems with mine after that.
