    Hey there,

My wife's PC has been acting up kinda strange...almost like it had a virus or some sort of malware on it....

So I downloaded a new version of BitDefender on a 30 day trial, installed it and began setting it up...

Then the PC started hanging and I tried re-starting several times.

Finally I started to Uninstall the program in case something when wrong in the installation process.....this also seemed to stall the PC

Now, I can't even find the BitDefender on the list of Add/Remove programs although it's still on the PC.

To make matters worse I can't restore to a previous state using System Restore...

PC is running XP with Microsoft 2007

Are there any other utilities out there that will enable me to Add/Remove programs?

    It's driving me crazy....

    Please help...

    Regards

    Greg

:wave Welcome to Major Geeks! :major
There are several good 3rd party uninstallers:
Revo (a Major Geeks favorite) http://www.majorgeeks.com/Revo_Uninstaller_d5706.html
    Free Uninstaller http://www.majorgeeks.com/Free_Uninstaller_d5763.html
    My Uninstaller http://www.majorgeeks.com/MyUninstaller_d5912.html
Remove It (not to be confused with the virus tool RemoveIT Pro) http://www.majorgeeks.com/RemoveIt_d3839.html
Well, there's four different uninstallers.... they're all free.... Good Luck!
    I hope these help!

    Hey dlb,

    Thanks for the list...

I tried Revo and another one, but they couldn't find the software either...

I finally tried to re-install Bitdefender and it found itself (weird). It then enabled me to un-install correctly and to re-install.

Hopefully that sorts the problem out....I'll monitor the PC over the next coupls of days to see what happens...

    Regards

    Greg
