A non working Pavilion 210n was given to me to try to repair. When turned on, the fans (power supply and processor fans) come on and the power light comes on, but neither the keyboard has no lights nor does the display. CMOS provides no error beeps. I replaced the CMOS battery, but nothing. The video is built into the m-brd. I tried another video card. Nothing. Any ideas? Thanks,
    Tony

Have you tried a USB keyboard which might allow you to get to the BIOS setup assuming of course you are using the PS/2 which is failing.

I tried the USB kbrd. with no luck. I traded reinstalling the OS and I still cannot get into CMOS, but now it beeps once then waits 2-3 seconds and beeps again. But still there is no video. Any other ideas? Do you know what the one beep is produced for? Thanks,
    Tony

Toke knows much more than I do.

I would try unplugging and removing battery. Unplug all CDROMS and HD and video card. Put battery back in and see if you get anything.

Then try only one RAM module at a time.

It may be that the RAM, or one stick of it, is broken; on-board VGA usually requires that the system RAM is installed in a particular slot, usually that nearest the processor, before the PC will boot. Try using just 1 stick alternately in each of the slots; this should also force the BIOS into giving some error beeps when it's in the wrong slot.

Some 'boards will do a partial reset when disconnected completely from the power cord and then the power button is depressed for 30 seconds or so then released and reconnected.

I tried that and it still won't give any video. It only beeps once then wait 2 seconds and 1 beep again during cmos. I'll keep trying any ideas sent. Thanks again.

Isn't the 200 series pretty old?? I have a board that came out of a 500 series and it works great, Way better than that 210 will All but the on board video being out. I am selling the board with a 2.5GHZ Pentium 4, for roughly 50 bucks if you're interested. lol. The board is at least worth 25 dollars maybe more and I paid more than 25 for the cpu, so good deal I'm offering Id say. lol.

    Basic PCI video card included,

I have a Gig of ram for this as well for an extra 25 dollars.

Good, it pays to double-check all the options :)

Let's hope you succeed in getting it fully up and running now.

You should thank sach2, he first suggested that ;)
