    Greetings,

I know that some of you that are reading this post wil burst into tears...

    Of laughing that is,

I considered myself to be a fairly moderate computer technician / software and OS installer.

Last night i upgraded my DUALBOOT (Linux 13 Maya - Win 7 Home Premium)
to Win 7 ULTIMATE (I needed ultimate to be able to run 64bit guests as i am using alot of virtualization technology like VMWare 8.0.
After that i thought it was time to clean my system to get rid of old software paths scattered over the C.

So i deleted my 2HDD's partitions and then formatted,
And after that i deleted 2 more on my 1HDD.

Dumbass! When dualbooting, after the delete of partitions, install new bootloader! (I forgot :s)
Dumbass2: The hidden partitions i thought to be Linux on drive 1 were actually ACER PCREQUEST and a small 5mb one.
Dumbass3: About a year ago i installed a SUPERVISOR password and the next day i could not get into it.

I've tried everything but i just don't see how to fix it.

I have no BIOS setup acces,
    I have no working bootloader
The F12-option, boot from cd/usb is not available.
PS: It's an ACER ASPIRE 7738g with PHOENIX BIOS v1.11 (Oh yes, that's the one with the EEPROM chip so C/Mos jumper won't work:s)

Please somebody help me i'm getting frustrated xD

    Cheers anyway

    Simon

    Hi,
Can you clarify just a bit?

What do you see on screen after the Acer logo--a blinking cursor at top left?
You have not had access to BIOS for a year? The supervisor password is relevant for changing boot order but not necessary to start system?
How did you do the upgrade/formatting--did you boot from CD/DVD for that process?
The laptop won't boot from CD/DVD by default without F12?
Do you technically have Win7 completely installed on one of those drives?
Do you have a desktop to temporarily install the Win7 drive into?

I'm thinking that if you have Win7 installed then maybe installing that HD in a desktop (as the only HD, removing any current HD) and booting to the Win7 DVD and going to repair options would let you do a bootrec /fixmbr command to write a generic mbr. Then put the HD back into laptop and see if it will boot. Or from Linux, testdisk's "mbr code" command would do the same thing.

One other thought. If you remove the first HD from the laptop, will it then try to boot from CD/DVD or does it end up on the same screen as with both HD installed?
