major problems with XP

I need major help as XP is killing me and i have now run out of ideas and threads to follow in order to help me in my quest.

my partner in there wisdom down loaded some very nice malware with i followed the read and run first, i was able to identify it as i think vermondo sorry cant really remember. as soon as we attempted to remove it the computer crashed and started to show the blue screen of death,

XP will now not load in any mode if any of the safe modes are selected it just lists files directorys and then crashes and cycles till the blue screen of death, and last know config etc causes the same blue screen and crash.

we do not have the disks any longer and no recovery disk, i am at a total loss on how or if this problem can be fixed.
