    Hi there

First of all i dont know if this is in the right forum, please move if its not

i recently bought an amd quad 620 cpu and an Asus M4a78-e motherboard
I have them on stock cooling, (soon to be changed).

But recently, say the last 3 days booting has been very unstable,i am able to get to the login screen, i enter windows and sometimes it will freeze immediatly, or sometimes, like in the video it takes around 30 seconds to freeze.

I dont if this is the cause but i have done some overclocking, max oc was 3.2Ghz on stock, temps around 56C

When it freezes, the mouse will not move, ctrl+alt+delete is useless and i even left for half an hour once to see if it would eventually load, but no.

I have removed the bios battery and done the rtc reset, after finding some one else had similar problems on another forum.

There is a windows error box that appears as i show on the video

I made i video to show you exalty what happens

    Sorry for the bad quality.

Without watching the video, turn down the clock for starters. I'm not a big OC'er but did you run something like Prime95 overnight to see if your OC is stable first? Have enough volts? Can your memory take it? Can your chip take it?

I don't OC except for the easily used apps that gives one a %10 increase. Just because the temps were OK doesn't mean nothing else is at fault. Good luck.

I have reset the clocks back to 2.6Ghz (stock)

i ran occt, it said everything was stable!

Auggie - this isnt a result of folding, is it?

    Burrell :(

Are you folding on all 4 cores yet? It is a very intensive hardware user but if folding is not running then it has nothing to do with your issue.

I have pretty much decided that it must be a hardware failure, I recently bought an AMD athlon quad 620 and a asus m4a78-e, do you think it would the processor or the the mobo that has failed as I bought them 25. Days ago and I have a 28 day money back quarantee!

I'd put the BIOS back to default and don't say anything about OC'ing.ssshhh
