Majorgeeks To The Rescue Again?

Ok guys, you’ve never failed me (even walking me through getting my desktop up and running again from the “black screen of death”! So, here’s my dilemma:

I have an older Dell laptop stilling running Windows 7 Pro. (There are several programs I use almost daily that aren’t compatible with anything over Windows 7.) Everything was going along fine…until I moved. I had to switch internet providers. My desktop, my smart tv, my ipad all made the switch to my new Wi-Fi without a problem. But my laptop won’t connect to it. As you can see, the network is there, but it won’t connect.

You guys have been my saviors so many times, I’m praying you can come to my rescue again.

Ummm…I can’t connect the internet to download that little tool.

 

You said your desktop connects - correct? You download the tool to the desktop, move it to a USB stick and install it on the laptop.

 

Ok…I installed wifiinfoview onto my laptop and selected “run as admin”. This is the only thing that came up. I don’t have a clue as to what to do next. Help!

 

Your picture is hard for me to read - I'm on a laptop with a small screen.
So are any of the 5 SSIDs shown (4 with names and 1 blank) your network? From one of your earlier shots, I assume the network is hugh763628 and is a wireless N network 7265. I don't see it listed.

If the wifi is not even showing on the laptop in the list of possible networks one of 2 things is happening wifi is turned off OR the internal wifi adapter is not functioning.
