Majorgeeks Website Always Freezes Up.

    Hi,
    This has been happening for a while now, every time I visit Major Geeks the site freezes up and I get a message that Major Geeks is not responding. The hold website is froze, close and go back and the same thing happens again and again. I have not changed anything on my settings, it only happens to Major Geeks all other websites work fine.
    My PC is clean and running its best.

    Windows 7 64 bit
    ESET Smart Security
    IE 11

    Little help please,

    Hi Marlene

    As using IE11 (although should not be an issue as I have trested site with all main common ones) try a different one as a quick test.
    Using any ad blocking apps? if so which one, disable it to test.
    Check if ESet Smart Security has the website blocked https://support.eset.com/kb2844/?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US
    Clean temps and cookies in IE, can use CCleaner for this, if not using it its here http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/ccleaner_slim.html

    Not had anyone else AFAIK have this issue yet.

    Hi David,
    I have tried all of the above you talked about, it seems there is no freeze up in the forum section. But when I'm in the homepage where the downloads are, everything freezes up. Major Geeks not responding is the message I always get. Strange.........

    I just tested this on a 32 bit Win 7 and a 64 bit Win 7 and neither computer freezes on the main page http://www.majorgeeks.com/
    using Internet Explorer 11 with all security updates up through June 2018.

    What other browsers did you try?
    As a test I just tried IE9 without a problem.

    FIXED,
    Just for the heck of it I ran "Tweaking.com - Repair Internet Explorer" and it worked. Thank you guys for all your help.

    A bit off topic but some day with web sites freezing I will get motivated enough to use a text only web browser :)
