Hey guys im new to this forum but not new to this site, Been using it for a couple years now for random useful downloads also for useful threads. I was wondering if someone could help me find a program or even write some kind of script or code to make my pc shutdown from inactivity.

The reason being that lately ( after pc reformat ) I noticed my computer stalling and taking along time to come out of sleep mode. I just went through a hole BIOS Nightmare after using a Motherboard update I aquired on the hp support site for my computer that was supposed to fix my sleep mode issues. My computer would lock up on some "BIOS ROM checksum error" I was lucky enough to find a thread on this site which saved my butt, thanks to the Genius people who roam these forums. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1068202#post1068202

Anyways I Digress, Forget everything I just wrote beyond the topic. Any help would be appreciated.

Not exactly sure what you're asking. If you want your PC to shut down if you leave it idle for a while, go to your Power Options (that's what it's called in XP) in your Control Panel. You will find options there to shut down after a time you specify.

There is no way to shut down your pc from idle in the power options, already checked. You can only put it to sleep or hybernate. I dont want it to sleep or Hybernate because for me to get my computer out of sleep or Hybernate it takes longer then it would for me to just restart my pc. So im asking for a program that will allow me to set a time of idle before it shuts down. Something like an hour of idle then Force a safe shutdown.

Yep. Sorry IPwnAll. Got it now.
Maybe while you're at it you should see if someone can help you with your Sleep Mode issue.

There has to be some program out there that allows a user to shut down his/her pc from idle. Its something that Microsoft should I think clearly put in the power options. They have sleep and hybernate but no shutdown.

As for my sleep mode issues, I dont think I can handle anymore of that. Iv tryed everything I could find. 1 of which (The BIOS Update Released on HPs Site the one that made the most sence) messed my computer up royaly. Luckily I have a second pc to find a way to fix it and even more lucky in finding someone with the same issue as me. The burner in this pc is broken so I had to use a floppy to make the boot rom. My BIOS broken pc had no floppy drive so I had to take out the floppy drive from my good computer and put it in the broken computer then do the BIOS Flashing. This all after me trying for hours to get my broken cd burner to work. Yawda Yawda. Bad day for me.
