Once again, I find myself back at the majorgeeks forums looking for software recomendations. I feel like I have access to an unlimited basis of knowledge about all that is computing. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on software for creating DVDs. I'm looking to make a video of cross country team this year and I wanna burn it on to a DVD and share it with my huge team (we have well over 100 kids.) I mean, I wanna put menus on it and have a coaches section and what not. So what do you use? I'm preferable looking for something that is free.

I'm not talkn' about the actually movie itself. I'm talking about compiling it into a DVD that people will be able to pop into their DVD players in their living room. I want it to have an opening menu like on commercial DVDs, and have like an extra's section. I need DVD compiling software.

I'm not aware of any free DVD authoring and burning programs. These are some links for the leading companies.

    DVD converter "videotrans-1.0.1" released
    http://rss.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/export/rss_sfnews?m=19

Yesterday "videotrans-1.0.0" was released, which contained some
installation problems. Videotrans-1.0.1 should fix these problems.
videotrans is a set of scripts that allow its user to reformat existing
movies into the VOB format that is used on DVDs. Furthermore,
videotrans supplies programs which allow its user to create a complete
DVD, including selection menus which allow the viewer to choose which
movie he/she wants to see, if more than one movie fits onto a DVD.
