MAking machine pingable

    I am trying to make my machine pingable so I can run some line checks.

    I do the Controlpanel/Network Connections/ etc etc and check off Allow incoming echo requests under ICMP.

    another ping test still shows my machine as unpingable.

    What gives?

    Not sure what your knowledge level is, but are they on the same IP range? Same workgroup/domain? Windows level firewall off?

    Are you pinging from outside your LAN?
