Using a Dell 3000 and a stereo with speaker connections, can I connect the stereo to my computer and record CDs? If so, do I use the microphone or Line In connection.

I'd recommend the LINE IN.

You can buy a RCA two out to 1/8" minijack at RadioShack for like 6$. You hook up the tape player, record player, etc. via the line-out to the computer's line-in. Adjust the volume settings, a la the tutorial, and you should be set.

No problem. I should also add that you can unhook various equipment from your stereo and port it over to your computer and do it there, if your stereo isn't close to the computer. I did that myself with my tape deck.

 

I just bought a device for making the reproduction of phonograph records more simple. DAK Industries has it.
