making vcd on dvd

do anyone knows how i can make a vcd on a dvd disk??
i have some vcd and i want to put them in dvd so to take less storage space?
do you know any burning software? or any trip to make it using nero??

I think you may have this back to front. I think you can get a VCD onto a CD. That would be cheaper than burning to a DVD.

I'll leave it up to others to describe the process as I have never attempted it. Bazza

Thanks the idea was not to convert the files cause no image quality will be gained be that so the idea was to create a large vcd disk with 4 giga capacity. if anyone else has any tip? its welcome

 

there is an option in nero to make a video DVD, i think thats what you want

if i copy the stucture of a vcd
folders and file names
and i burn an iso-dvd
will i trick the players to think they have to do with a disk with the vcd structure???
how can i change the block size? from 150 to 172?? thats the block for vd isnt it?

 

No, it won't work. It won't be compliant with the VCD, SVCD nor the DVD format and the player will not recognize it.

Extract the mpeg/dat files from the VCDs and burn them as episodes/chapters on a DVD video disc with Nerovision since your reply suggests you will be using a standalone player. You should be able to get 2 hours of mpeg video without any real loss in quality compared to the original although I've put up to 4 hours on a DVD movie and it wasn't too bad - about VHS quality.

 

well the dcd capacity can put 6 vcd. thats 4 hours and more video almost 5!!!! and the quality of the moovie will be the same of the vcd vhs. well i burned a dvd with the vcd file structure on pc it works ok. on a stand alone player it coould not recognise disk !!!!!
