i'm running a lenovo ideapad s10 with windows xp sp3. i ran into a bit of trouble with some malware and removed with chaslang's assistance. during the process i updated xp from sp2. afterwards I attempted to increase the volume using the function (blue) up keys and got this message: "Warning! Your audio device is not working properly!"
Looked into it and I've got realtek HD audio version 5.10.0.5675
I tried to use the 5.10.0.5794 version update from the lenovo site, but it seems like it didn't take. The device manager still shows the old version number even though I attempted to uninstall it, and upon reboot the system "recognized a new driver" but it's the same..... please help, anyone........
attached you'll find my everest report log.

i forgot to mention that i opened realtek hd audio and it has a test loop that worked, that is I actually heard something.

even though the test loop worked, nothing else does.
please..... anybody..... i don't mean to be a pest, i just figure that languishing on the second or third page is not a good way to find help.
