    Hi,

I'm running windows vista 64 bit on a Dell XPS laptop that I bought two weeks ago. For the first few days I was able to play the game Oblivion. However, after I inserted my external hardrive to burn a movie file I had on there I caught something from there that caused Oblivion and my other games to stop working. I know this for a fact because the same thing has happened to my desktop. For example I would try to execute the game Oblivion but all I get is a tiny black screen and when I open the windows task manager it says Oblivion is not responding. I tried waiting for a very long time but nothing would change. So I visited this forum and followed the instructions listed in the "READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide". I didn't use combofix or RootRepeal as the instructions stated that they do not work on a 64 bit system. After that I tried executing Oblivion again but the same problems persist. I've attached the logs. Please somebody help me, thank you.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Your logs are all clean. I think you should check elsewhere for issues with your gaming. Try the Software or Game Forums. You could also consider just try System Restore especially since you say your laptop is so new.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    3. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    4. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    5. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thank you for answering. I'm glad my computer is at least clean.
