I'm a novice at this - so bear with me. I had malware on my system. Took a look a your page and saw the Spy Doctor was pretty well regarded, so I downloaded it, it found numerous problems, so I bought it and it repaired the malware.

The computer itself still runs fine, my telephone which is through my DSL connection (Vonage) still runs fine, but I cannot open any internet page or browser.

It keeps saying "Proxy Server is refusing connection." I've checked my connections in the Control Panel and am told by our IT guy at work they are correct (Dial-up Virtual Private Network Settings is blank and the Lan settings section is blank/inchecked... I run direct on DSL).

Any assistance you can provide on how to get me going on the internet again is most appreciated!!!!! :) Wendy

As this is not a malware issue, I have moved your thread to the networking forum.

Open IE - tools - internet options - connections tab - lan settings - uncheck 'Use a proxy server' check box. - check 'Autodetect settings' check box.
