Is there a program you can recommend for Windows 7 64 bit, since Malwarebytes does not work properly on it?

    Thank you

Would not bother with Spybot or Ad-aware, but consider Superantispyware.

    Hi

Malwarebytes works perfectly on Windows 7 x64 as I have been using it since the early beta version of Win7 and now have Win7 Ultimate x64 installed with Malwarebytes running great.

So what issues are you having with Malwarebytes? is it the Free or Paid version?

The free version, I went to their website and have read myself that it's not compatible with 64 bit version. The built in Registry protector in Windows 7, prompts u every time you want to use it. It also does not have the scan single file option when you right click a file. So if you don';t care about being prompted every time and that it lacks the single file mode, I guess it works, but I want the single file scan mode myself.

    Says it supports both 32 & 64bit.
I'm running 32bit (free) and can scan single files! Don't see why it won't work on x64?
Are you talking about the UAC popup :confused
    Cheers..

Just to add. In MBAM settings, ensure you have a "check" on context menu for right click to scan files. I'ts there by default, but just a thought.

I forget what's it's called, not at my computer right now. But its the prompt where it states "Malwarebytes is attempting to alter the registry, do you wish to allow it?" On another note, is there a way to allow programs you designate to always allow them to alter the registry when needed?

Thanks for all the help thus far.

Is this what you get? If yes, it's User Account Control. You can disable it if you like. Not recommended but, it's a matter of choice. Just click on "Change when these notification appear" from the box as shown.
    Cheers..

Im also running windows 7 64 bit, and also cannot get either MBAM or SuperAntiSpyware to show up in the right click menu for single file scanning .
Avast, on the other hand DOES show up in the right click menu . I like to triple scan media files after downloading and before i play them, right now i can only scan from the right click menu with Avast . Yes, I do have the settings correct in the apps .

Yeah I use AVG and Ad-Aware and both of those show up for scan on right click, but Malwarebytes does not. I finally got fed up and deleted it, I was going to try Superantispyware, but if your having problems with that also, I see no point. Can anyone figure out why we can't get these programs to work, or suggest another good malware scanning program with right click single file scanning?

"This will be fixed in version 1.42, but for now you can use this fix. It works in Windows 7 just as well as in Vista and XP"
