Malwarebytes & Spybot S&d Both Remove Advanced System Care

What is it about ASC that these two programs do not like? Also, just yesterday (twice) I found ASC somehow putting WPS 2019 on my computer which I did not want. WPS is my software like Microsoft word etc. I use the free version of WPS and it seems with each upgrade it gets slower and more bloated which is why I do not want the 2019 version. (WPS has even taken over my wordpad docs.) Anyway, the first time ASC let that on my computer, I did a system restore and it removed it. I ran ASC again and it was right back on my laptop. I simply went and removed the program this time. Since MB and Spybot does not like ASC, I see it is going to be going away soon. Also, does anyone know of a free word processing software besides WPS that I can use? I am pretty fed up with it too. Thanks

Thanks Eldon, I like it much better as it loads faster and does not appear as bloated as WPS. Thanks too plodr, I had gone to Cnet and tried to download that and it said it was no longer available....... although it wasn't the portable version I was trying to download. It does have good reviews.

I put this ( Libre) on a laptop where I only had one WPS document on it and now getting ready to put it on my main laptop with lots of Docs. What is the best way to get it to convert all of those over to Libre? On this one, I opened it with Libre and made it the default program I then deleted WPS but I know there has to be an easier way. Can I just delete WPS and install Libre ? The other way will be very time consuming. Thanks much to both of you for your help. Maybe now I can salvage ASC since I won't have WPS to contend with anymore.

 

If the documents are in *.doc or *.docx formats they will open in LibreOffice.
You can then uninstall WPS Office.

FYI AbiWord for Windows is no longer maintained.

I saw this on your post and concur. I would like to buy a new laptop but I would not even consider anything with windows 10 on it. Microsoft tries to get cute and make all these changes just so they can sell a new OS but since Windows 7 and XP, most all have sucked.

 

I'll continue using Windows 7 until I have to buy new hardware that doesn't support it.
Then I'll run it in a virtual machine under Linux.

I used to have it but I removed it and use LibreOffice and LibreOffice portable for the few things I need to work on and read.
