Man, Am I a neophyte

Bottom line here is that I am a very rudemenatry computer user. I have no knowledge of how stuff works but I use my computer extensively. Here's my deal.

Appears I have a worm/trojan, whatever you call it. It appears to be generating emails in our system and it sends SPAM out under my wife's email. The Symantec AntiVirus messager tells me when it is scanning outgoing email roughly 3 times a minute.

Have no idea how to fix. Any help out here!

Hi Hairball, your description is rather vague, can you list some system specs including exact details of your Anti-virus software, is it fully updated
what operating system/ e-mail client are you using, do you have a firewall installed

Have you run a full system scan with Norton and does it find anything
