MASH Problem: oleaut32.dll error

I installed the Microsoft Agent Scripting Helper (MASH) program on a computer running windows 98 and now it's all screwed up. I can't uninstall the program (even in safe mode) and I keep getting error messages associated with the oleaut32.dll file. Windows explorer won't display anything in "view as webpage" option, I can't run very may programs (no error, simply won't start) and I am unable to view anything in Internet explorer!

I've contacted bellcraft.com and tried their solution (installing VB Run-Time files) but the install errored before it finished.

Help!

 

If you receive one of the following error messages when starting MASH:

"A required .DLL, MSVBVM60.DLL, was not found."
-or-
"The file 'OLEAUT32.DLL' is out of date. This program requires a newer version."

Then please install MASH FULL SETUP or the Visual Basic 6.0 Run-Time from the Download page and restart your computer.

I've already spoken with George Bell (the "Bell" in bellcraft) and he offered the same advice. I've already tried to install the vb run-time updates (no success... it errors before completion) and the full install won't initiate.

Thanks for the effort though... any further suggestions?
