Massive headache, need some help!

I bought World at War and decided to match it with a EVGA 9800GT + OCZ 700W Power supply.

I hooked it up yesterday, everything seemed alright and I was super pumped about the thought of me nerdraging on C.O.D for hours on end.

Of course it wasn't so smooth............. I ran into massive load times, I timed it one time and it was 3 minutes and 20 seconds from the time I clicked COD Icon to when I physically got into the game, while I'd say 40% of the time I sat at a black screen for minutes on end thus having to hit my power switch on the back of my PC and restarting my rig.

Now, I guess the 2 questions I have are ( I'll include specs at the bottom )

Is some of my hardware straining this setup , is this videocard blowing the shit out of my unit and leaving everything else in the dust? Thus at a point where I need to start thinking about upgrading my motherboard + processor?

Or is this card bunk? Once I finally get into COD ( sometimes takes 3-4 times ) it RAPES, runs smooth, edges are flawless in my eyes, and overall a superb card.

Computer specs, like I said I realize some of this stuff is old, but I'm not after OMGBENCHMARK /E-PEEN contest, I just want something stable to run COD at medium'ish settings. It just seems like I have a massive bottleneck somewhere or maybe the 9800GT's are notorious for this, thus me needing to RMA it.

After the headache I decided to just reinstall my 7600GT.......BINGO, loaded COD World at War 4 times and all 4 times it loaded in literally 3 seconds or less and not running into a black screen once.

    2 gigs OCZ PC-3200 ( bleh :? )
    venice 3800+ 64bit
    Abit Kn8 MB
    700W OCZ PS
    EVGA G-Force9800GT

My cpu temp is hovering around 32C, I could run sandra / motherboard monitor, but overheating is completely out of the question but if someone wanted exact numbers down the board I could get them.

    Responses would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to add I also have the latest drivers also.

    182.06 + 182.08, I've tried them both.

Sorry, don't mean to spam this thread but I've been brainstorming this for hours and am getting tired and forgetting to add certain things.

I noticed on my motherboard specs it says PCI-E while this video card says PCI-E 2.0 16

And I'm also running Directx9C, do they automatically just gear down and run fine or could that be my problem? My MB shooting back the card?
