Does anyone know how I can get this game to work on Windows XP? it's an old game that I used to play when I had window 3.1 called Master of Magic was made by Micro Prose, I can't find any info on it or the company anymore think the game was made around 1996 or so. It requires like 2700k extended memory is the error I get when I try to launch it thru the Command Prompt. I used to on my old computer when I played it be able to launch something called memmaker but I don't have any idea how I could make this game run on Windows XP if anyone has any ideas please let me know my email is GalnWoW@hotmail.com here's the link you can actually download the game here and put it in a file, it's the game fully installed as far as I can tell so you just need to launch it after you put it in the file, go to your dos thing and do c: then cd (to wherever you installed it mine is cd /mps/magic) then type magic to run it http://www.waronliner.com/filedb/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=13

Not sure what you are referring to but, you can launch the game just by double clicking the .exe file but it doesn't allow you to see the error that pops up in the command prompt as windows closes the window right after it doesn't launch, so doing as I said above insures you see the error that I get, "You need 2700k extended memory to run" or something like that.

You could try the Application Compatibility Toolkit, which you can either download from Microsoft, or there is a slightly older version on your XP CD under Tools I think.

Personally, I don't think it's worth the bother even if you are successful. It's up to you how far you want to persist and your skill level.

I find it easier to partition and install the required operating system, or find an old computer and use that.
