Max record time for Windows Recorder

Anyone know what the maximum record time for Windows Recorder is? In lieu of that, anyone know of a good (read: FREE) sound recorder for XP?

Yes, it's a minute. You can tweak it a bit, but it's not worth it, it's a very basic utility.

Thanks for responding, guys! What's the maximum record time for Audacity? I have a presentation that needs to be recorded (audio only) Friday, and it'll likely run an hour or so.

 

I doubt if it has a limit. It would only be limited by the media you are recording to.

 

Insomniac: I am have trouble w/ Audacity after I have it downloaded. I can't seem to get the recorded to work. I down loaded lame_enc.dll to work with Audacity and it still wont work. I had Audacity on another comp and it worked fine. Can you give the correct steps to follow inorder to do a clean instalation? Any one else help me. ODIE

 

What is happening exactly?

 

Insomniac: It records but is not caputring any sound. Iam totally confuased as to why it worked for me on one comp and wont work on this one. I have missed something and I dont know what it is. Anyone know what I am doing wrong. ODIE
