How do I KEEP the settings to open every window maximized? I want to do the same thing for folders. I'm running Windows Vista and IE 7.

When I open one and maximize it, exit the window, then open it again - it works (from the icon in the quick launch tray). But when I am in a window and click a link from there it opens another window that is not maximized.

    Thanks.

    Hi

For folders open any folder and choose Organize > Folder and Search Options > click the View tab and then make sure remember each folders view settings is checked, then open the folder to maximum by dragging its edges ( do make sure you only have one folder open and close all others and applciations ) then click Apply to All Folders

As for IE open it and only have 1 window and 1 tab only open then drag the sides to the maximum size you want them click File > and Exit, then open IE again.

Do note that Vista like XP only remembers so many folders so if you have 1000s and start creating more it only remembers the latest ones and will offload the settings to older ones, its a BUG or feature that has been reported many times by beta testers and hopefully one day will be fixed as Windows has amnesia at times and forgets these settings.
