Maxstor 120 gb hd

I got a drive the drive recognizes only 32 gb, I've tried it in a number of computers, and the bios says 32gb. The jumpers are right, but there seems to be one plastic jumper on a single pin, but its not jumping out anthing. I want to put the drive in my server, ande I updated to the newest bios to no avail. I'm looking for a reason and a solution.

What operating system are you using? Older versions of fdisk can only create 32GB partitions. If this is what you're using, you could create a number of 32GB partitions to use up the whole 200GB?

 

I'm using win 2k, but the bios only recognizes the disk as a 32gb hd. and 4 30gb partitions isn't particularly apealing, two 60's would be.

 

And you're using NTFS or FAT?

you might update your bios if you feel comfy doing that,the bios might be really out dated for that large of a drive,

I would recommend that you run a diagnostic utility on the drive.

 

Did that, Max blast 5, checks out perfectly as a 120gb drive, and everything is perfect.
