Maxtor 6y120lo SECURITY LOCKED

I am having a sh** load of problems!!
First off I think its important to say this HDD has been working just fine untill
I connected a second harddrive on the second plugin on the 40 pin cable.
I started the computer and it would not go past the point where the press F-1
went out and all that was left at bottom of screen was press tab key for sys messages.
I turned off computer removed second HDD restarted and got message
SYS32file missing cannot boot, start windows OS disk to repair.

Well I did not have that much important stuff on the HDD so decided to
do a fresh install. XP PRO
the install would run untill just after the examining disk text ran at bottom of screen. it would show disk 117240MB and then instead of offering partition
options it said could not accsess disk.

I then ran a bootable cd I had and ran maxtor diag and it says disk is secuirity locked.
I assume this is why windows install cannot accsess disk.

MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I REMOVE SECUIRTY LOCK ??

My computer is a gateway pentium II and I am well aware that it is OLD but for what i do
with it it works pretty good.
and remember the 120GB hard drive was working fine and all the 120 gb was available.
