Is there a way to change/update the MBR on a drive to use it in a different machine?

A change to the MBR shouldn't be necessary to run a HDD in a different machine.

If you want to move an already loaded Windows Installation to a different machine, It will not likely work. It has to do with hardware associations in the OS, not the MBR.

Thanks for your response, my goal was to use a cloned drive in a new build. Guess I am out of luck.
