When I bought computer in the past, NAV was installed. Now I notice that instead of NAV that McAfee Security Suite is installed.
#1- Would anyone know if I would have to do a lot of "learning" to find out how to use McAfee Security? Or are they both 'about the same?' Or are they both completely different from each other?

#2- Will McAfee Security work with AdAwasre; AVG-AS?

(Sorry if I posted this question to wrong board, but I didn't see a board for Virus program and therefore didn't know where else to post this question.)

IMHO, they're both huge stinking piles of :crap Personally, I'd uninstall completely using the removal tool (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/McAfee_Consumer_Product_Removal_Tool_d5420.html for McAfee; use this for Norton: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Norton_Removal_Tool_SymNRT_d4749.html). They slow down your PC, install all kinds of bloated extra garbage.... the newest full McAfee suite has over 12 things that launch at startup! Ridiculous. With so many quality free apps available, there's no reason to use one of the resource hungry and financially costly paid security programs. Thanks for letting me rant  ;)

The learning curve is pretty low with that software, so you should be able to learn how to use it. That said, I'm not a big fan of the product - a bit bloated for my taste.

Since you have Adaware and AVG Anti-spyware you’d probably be a lot happier with your system performance if you uninstalled McAfee and added AVG Antivirus, free edition.

    Thank you both....

I went to the NAV removal tool and notice this wording:
"Before you continue, make sure that you have the installation CDs or downloaded installation files for any Norton products that you want to reinstall."
What does that mean? (Or is that only if we want to reinstall NAV?) The NAV was preinstalled on the computer with no NAV software enclosed.

Its only if you care to reinstall it. In which case, as you said, you dont have the media--its part of the recovery software on your computer.
