Mcafee quarantine problem

I'm just letting you know now that I'm not much of a computer geek so if you reply could you try and keep it simple. The problem is that in my quarantine folder within mcafee somehow has 150 gb of Information on it and I can't work out how to get rid of it, I've tried goin on to my c drive and deleting it from there however it won't let me then I tryed to delete it through mcafee but then I left it loading up the quarantined files for 3 days then mcafee randomly closed. This causing me a real problem as it stops me from getting on to the Internet off that computer. Also if anyone could suggest what could have caused this to happen

Hi

What Windows version and Service Pack are you using?

What version of McAfee are you using?

If Windows is stating that you dont have permissions or the file is already in use, then try booting to Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and delete the contents in the folder from there.

Does the menu from within McAfee not allow you to delete?

Options bepending on version should be found in Manage Quarantined Files, then highlight and delete.

or

Open the Quarantined Files pane > On the left hand pane side, click Advanced Menu > Click Restore > Click Files, then highlight and click Remove.

*may also need to unhide hidden files and folders to locate the quarantine folder, likely if memory serves in C:\ProgramData\McAfee\VirusScan\Quarantine, again may need to do this from Safe Mode.

Thanks for your help but as soon as I delete any of the files the folder just fills up again

And I to awnser you questions I have windows xp and my version of mcafee is 10.5
