Mcafee Safe Connect Does Not Install

    McAfee Safe Connect does not install on my Windows 8 computer. When I attempt to install it, the command window appears momentarily, then disappears. I called McAfee tech support and spent many hours over a two day period with two different techs. They took the following steps:
    1. Uninstalled the app
    2. Edited the registry to remove any traces of the app
    3. Reinstalled the app in case the previous app was corrupted
    4. Attempted to install the app again
    5. Checked my computer for Windows updates
    6. Checked my computer for the latest version of Java
    7. Checked my computer for the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
    8. Attempted to install the app again
    My case is being researched. Has anyone experienced the same problem?
