mcafee

hiagain...happy new year to one and all...i have a strange thing thats been happening....i have verizon with msn with free mcafee...when i log on the mcafee is red logo as is normal but after a few minutes it goes black(meaning its not running) but when i try to able it again i get a thing saying everything is running fine....and when i go to security center...all the things check as running..i am very confused...which part isnt correct? the icon being black or it telli ng me my antivirus is running fine and my firewall as well....hoping someone can tell me as i am going away for 3 months and if i dont fix it today, it will have to wait til i get back home

 

1. Click Start > Run > Type services.msc > Click OK.
2. In Services window, double click McAfee.com McShield service.
3. Under General tab, set the Startup Type option to Automatic.
4. Click Stop and then Start. ("M" icon will turn red)
5. Click Recovery tab.
6. Set "First Failure", "Second Failure" and "Subsequent Failures" options to Restart the Service from combo box.
7. Click Apply and Ok.
