ME again

been a while since my last post and also since i wiped a hard drive. and my usual problem has arrived with finding drivers. thnx for the help in advance

 

edit: i have no sound and it doesnt recognise my ethernet

 

forgot to mention after i wiped the vista basic that was on it i installed windows xP Professional service pack 2

 

I did some research and found that your PC has one of several different ethernet adapters and one of several different wireless network adapters. So, even though you provided the Everest report, it is limited since the free Everest has not been updated in quite some time. I can provide some driver links below, but for the others, you should download Unknown Devices, unzip it, run it, then right click on the device drivers you're looking for, click on "Device Details", then copy/paste that info into a future post, or attach this info as a Notepad TXT file. In the meantime, here's your chipset and audio drivers:

thanks a lot for the help I only had a day to work on the laptop for my friend so I googled in desperation and used this link and everything worked fine after that with the exception of me giving them a non-genuine windows xP. Even though the link says for sp2 it worked great for sp3 and I assume its for any Acer Aspire above 5315, th eone i worked on was 5315-2813 I think. Maybe some key pointers on what I should be looking for in a driver search based on the everest report?
