ME pc freezes

I recently bought a Compaq Presirio from ebay for my daughter. P3 128mb 40g Me oper. DvD player cd burner an so on. Everything works great but......every so often the pc will freeze up, no error message nothin justs locks up. It seems to be related with the mouse movement, but not for sure since the mouse is always being used. There was a bunch of spyware, addware, trojens,worms an everything u could imagine on the pc. I removed all tht is visiable to my 4 spyware removal programs, I disc defraged, turned smooth scrollin off, reduced video quilty, performance an accleration an also ran Registry Mech. But still freezes up, she wants me to hook her old Packard Bell 233mz 32mb win95 system back up. Can some 1 plz help us. I did not get any of the driver disc's and I'm not really sure if I can Formatt. Feel free to email me with suggestions at ladster3@hotmail. Any respone will be greatly appreciated.
